What prescription medications affect my flight training?"
AOPA Staff Answer
Potentially, just about any medication can affect a pilot’s physical and cognitive performance. For that reason, the FAA publishes a “Do Not Issue/Do Not Fly” list of medications in the online Guide for Aviation medical examiners. This is not an all-inclusive list, but it includes types of medications that would not be allowed or would require a special issuance authorization.
