Most pilots would think so, the typical starting student renter’s insurance for a $5,000 hull deductible risk and $500,000 general liability would cost around $225- per year.
(… and that’s certainly cheaper than your car insurance !) A very generalized aircraft owner coverage rate could run between $500 - $4500 per year, mostly depending on the aircraft’s value insured, of course.
