"The FAA groups Part 107 applicants into two groups, Part 61 certificated pilots with a current flight review and everyone else. The steps for someone from either group are outlined on the “FAA’s Become a Drone Pilot” page. The biggest difference being that current Part 61 pilots take an online course, “ALC-451” ,and those who aren’t need to take the Unmanned Aircraft General-Small aeronautical knowledge test at a testing center.
