Hello, I am planning a general aviation IFR flight from KFCM to the Washington, D.C. area. Early planning suggests a destination of KFDK for airspace & congestion reasons. If possible, I'd like to avoid a STAR & SID. Could you comment about KFDK or other nearby GA reliver airports?
Also, lodging & rental car recommendations would be appreciated.
Thank you.

FDK would be an excellent choice -- Signature Flight Support there is unusually (for Signature) nice to light singles. The tower there will provide relief from the madness surrounding the nontowered Gaithersburg (GAI). And they should be able to provide a rental car as well as recommendations (and maybe a crew rate) for lodging, although you might want to choose your lodging based on where your business is in the DC area rather than where you park your airplane.
As for SID/STAR, unless you're flying something turbine-powered, you won't get one at FDK.

Ronald,
Thank you very much for your informative reply. Are you aware of Capital COVID lockdown details & how would that affect a visitor?
Again, thank you for your help.

I don't know what the DC rules are, but since you're planning to land in Maryland...
