Flight Planner Replacement

I have used AOPA Flight Planner but it has limited functionality compared to Foreflight and Garmin Pilot.  Why waste a lot of resources to try to compete with Foreflight, Garmin Pilot, and their acquisitions?  Wouldn’t a more reasonable option be to pursue a deal with the primary players for discounts or even a custom version?

I was about to respond to the AOPA email and then found Mr. Nygard’s post, which captures my sentiments completely. Spend AOPA resources where they are best needed, such as the amazing AOPA Air Safety Institute videos.

Hi Walter and Frank. Thank you for taking the time to give us honest feedback and share your thoughts. We do have many members who find great value in having a desktop application and due to this, we are working to find a replacement. We are also exploring opportunities for those who wish to use an EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) to have this option from our industry partners at a best price possible. We will communicate all details as soon as they become available. Thank you both for being valued members and AOPA pilots.
