Hi,
flight planner is one of the most frequency used benefits for me of being a member of AOPA. pls consider this when soliciting membership in the future.  If AOPA is for pilots then you should directly support them.  Consider strategic partnerships.

I think what we are seeing is Boeing flexing it very large muscles. Lets face it, Jeppsen and Foreflight had a crossover of product. This way Jeppsen now provides the maps and Foreflight provides the flight planning using Jeppsen products. This allows Boeing to push GA consumers to their more expensive, higher profit product. I would suggest AOPA steer clear of any Boeing owned company products for the new flight planner.

Well said. I agree. The more things in aviation cost the more difficult it is to get into and stay in for people. If we can save money it means more flying time.

Hi Bruce. To address your question, yes, we absolutely do.

We want to thank each of you for taking the time to give us honest feedback and share your thoughts. We don’t take your concerns lightly and are working with several companies in the industry to provide a replacement option(s) for those who wish to continue to utilize a desktop Flight Planning application. While we didn’t have the option to keep the current Flight Planner going, we do understand the value of having a desktop tool. We are also exploring opportunities for those who wish to use an EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) to have this option from our industry partners at a best price possible. We will communicate all details as soon as they become available. Thank you for being valued members and AOPA pilots.

I for one appreciate all that AOPA does to keep us flying and safe. I also appreciate the opportunity to be heard, as I'm sure everyone else does. Keep up the good work! It would be nice to associate any desktop solution you are able to come to with an EFB of choice, I know that would take a lot of negotiating and isn't very likely, but since we're dreaming, why not ask?
