It had been three or four years since I flew as PIC. In that time I kept my membership current with AOPA and continued to read to stay updated on current flying topics and regulations. I attended a Rusty Pilot seminar at our flying club, but still did not fly. Last year I applied for and passed my Basic Med flight physical, then two weeks ago I contacted my flying club instructor and he signed off on my Biennial Flight Review.
We did some basic maneuvers, some hood work, simulated engine out landing, and several landings at non-tower and tower airports. It was a comprehensive review and helped me to feel comfortable again in the left seat.
I am looking forward to my next solo flight and/or flight with passengers.
