Avoid flying in Granite Clouds 3686
Avoid flying in Granite Clouds
This presentation addresses some of the ways to avoid Control Flight into Terrain (CFIT) and Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) accidents in different scenarios regardless of your level of experience and proficiency. This presentation is extremely helpful, especially if you have not had the opportunity to experience any type of rigorous stalls and or spin training.
This includes avoiding flying from VMC to IMC unintentionally or intentionally, it may help in determining your comfort zone for each flight, it helps to understand and minimize the startling conditions that may arise by expecting the unexpected, it also explains the new FAA emphasis areas Avoid, Recognize, Recover.
This presentation has been tailored for students, certified pilots from Private to ATP and Flight Instructors. Please attend and bring a fellow student or pilot and make sure to have some questions.
The presenter believes that flying safe can be summarized in one of his quotes that states the following.
"The formula for safety in flying is as follows: 85% knowing, 15% doing and 5% luck." Diego M. Alfonso
