Friends and fellow aviators,
We’re throwing a cookout on Saturday March 7th from 1200-1800 at the Monterey Navy Flying Club. (KMRY) Save the date and bring friends and family! We’ll have music, mini golf, corn-hole, darts, food, discussions, a bounce house (for kids not pilots). Several warbirds are scheduled to attend. We’re also fundraising for our beloved T34B Mentor. It’s in the airplane ICU at Benton Air Center in Redding and we are nearing the finish line! Providing a precise estimate is difficult but it’s within the $5,000-$9,000 range. We’ll need some help to get there because we have several balls in the air. We need to repair our Cessna’s motor now and overhaul the Warrior’s in about 300 hours. Follow us on Facebook for updates.
Especially if you’re flying in, consider a membership to take advantage of our 100LL at $4.90 per gallon. We are conveniently located right next to runway 28R & 10L. We’re always looking for new talent, especially of the CFI variety. Our CFI’s earn competitive pay. Instruction fees are $45 per hour and the instructor takes home $35. We’d love to have an A&P or two as well. Cessna 172 and Warrior rental is $119 per hour. Mentor rental cost is TBD. There is a $50 sign up fee and then $25 per month thereafter.
This Military Flying Club is open to all U.S. Active Duty, National Guard, Retired, Active Reserve and their family members, Federal Government employees, DoD contractors and members of armed forces of foreign countries and their family members when on orders in the U.S. Civilians are also eligible for membership as a Friend and Supporter of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP).
