I am in a partnership with a a 1970 Piper Arrow 200, which we purchased in 1978. I am 75 and my partner is 86, and recently have been deemed to old to fly. Both of us have BasicMed, and could easily pass a FAA, third class physical. Both of us have had no infractions, accidents, or incidents. Upon insurance renewal, we were told we would need a annual 3rd class physical, no BasicMed allowed, but the clincher is both of us can not fly solo, but must have another NAMED pilot accompanying us at all times while flying this pilot besides being named on the policy, must have a private or commercial with an instrument rating, with at least 500 hours TT, 100 in retractable gear, and at least 25 hours in an Arrow. Basically we must have a baby sitter at all times.No other insurance company would extend coverage. 
Update, the two of us can fly together without another named pilot.
