If you recall from a post back in September of 2020, I knew it would be a hell of a road to get a third class medical certificate, and so I opted to go the BasicMed route.  Thus far it's great.  I'm flying, I'm soloed, and I'm happy, but I'm thinking I might want to eventually try to get a new medical, possibly even a second class.  To be clear, I have no desire to be an airline pilot, and I'm way too old (41) to even consider starting down that road, but it would be nice to be able to fly ...

I just started Sporty's Learn to Fly online course for ground school, with ASA's "The Complete Private Pilot" by Bob Gardner for supplementary material. I've been fascinated by planes since around age 7 and flew with my Aviation Club in high school from 1997 through 2001.

Question: Is it possible to go through my entire ground school training and FAA Knowledge Exam without CFI assistance? I, like many people, don't have the money (yet) for an ...

I'm pre-solo student pilot, and in my flight school's rental agreement, the following language appears:

As a Renter of an aircraft, the Operator hereby provides notice that:

When I was 25 back in 2005, I obtained a student pilot certificate and 3rd class medical certificate.  Then, I got about 30 hours logged before I just up and quit and let the medical lapse.  So it was still valid in 2006.  I am now going back into flying and am in the process of getting my student certificate back, but I do not want to have to deal with AME's interrogating the hell out of me for therapist visits over something as minor as anxiety.  I am not taking antidepressants ...
