Hello follow members. I'm new to this site as well as learning to fly. Having recently retired I'm moving forward on a dream I had little time for in my working life. Now, free of the day to day grind this old dog wants to learn a few new tricks. As of this point I have a grand total of 4 whole flight hours, impressive I know. I maybe wanting to move to quickly but I have been plowing the web for aircraft to buy. While I know generally you get what you pay for I still need to keep things ...
Hi,  I'm Sid H,

Looking to buy an aircraft, have a single engine rating w/instrument ticket, 700 hrs in 172s, PA28 180s, PA32s.
Would like a faster plane because I like to do cross country flight. Mostly fly solo, occasional passenger or two.  Usually fly once or twice a month.  Live in Baltimore, MD., Fly out of Middle River, MD.   Looking at a Mooney or Bonanza platform.  Please provide your thought.  Pros/Cons, etc, Love Flying!!!
Thanks!
Hey fellow aviators!

I just started Sporty's Learn to Fly online course for ground school, with ASA's "The Complete Private Pilot" by Bob Gardner for supplementary material. I've been fascinated by planes since around age 7 and flew with my Aviation Club in high school from 1997 through 2001.

Question: Is it possible to go through my entire ground school training and FAA Knowledge Exam without CFI assistance? I, like many people, don't have the money (yet) for an ...

The above link should be the definitive source for an answer to my question.   Maybe I am slow on the uptake, but my specific question appears to be left without a clear answer.

WHY THE QUESTION:   Our local flying club, which is operating from a privately owned, Non-Controlled / NO TOWER airfield, will today for the first time have four ...

I am looking to buy a Windows desktop to run a flight simulator. I intend to use it with my Mac Thunderbolt display. Does anyone know of a good desktop with thunderbolt port? I am planning to just run a flight simulator and not for any other games. Thanks.
Hello everyone, just making an introduction. I am brand new to flying and taking lessons (currently working towards my sport license). One day I hope to make it to my CFI but $$$ is my major hurdle.

I fell in love with aviation through an interest in WWI aviation and the pioneers. I would like to build a replica one day just for fun (probably a Nieuport) but I really can't get twin-engine Cessnas out of my head. I am in eastern NC and enjoy sailing around the sounds here. Well ...
My Dad flew B-17s over Germany during WWII and trained Korean pilots for the USAF. Flying was always a part of his character, but he just didn't keep up with it. When I was a kid, his boss owned a twin engine plane (no recollection what kind) and he would do repo flights for him. I got to fly in the co-pilot seat for one of them.
It was something I was very interested in doing myself. When I was in college, I looked into it and the sticker shock drove me away. It just seemed like ...
Met an 85 yr old CFI - too, John Glenn flew in the space shuttle at 77.  Okay then - figured at 68 the least I could do is FINALLY learn to fly.
Planning on Instrument, Commercial and CFI certificates, but first - let's get that PPL.  Can't wait!
what is the water bottle method for clearing clouds?
