For sale 1/2 or (preferably) 1/3 of a 1973 Piper Cherokee 6/260 located at KTHV (York, PA). I spent about 6 months researching planes to buy and looking for partners to go in with me. I wasn't looking to buy just yet, but this beauty was available, and I just couldn't say no to it. I just can't swing all of the costs by myself.

If you are looking for a great flying plane that you can actually fit 6 adults AND their luggage AND still fill it up with 84 gallons of fuel, this is your bird! Useful load of 1,550 pounds!

Shouldn't finishing students be given priority?  After investing $14K in a rating (Instrument in my case), dragging it out only wastes time and money.  It very discouraging to having to keep doing one more lesson, and one more lesson, and one more lesson.  Where does it end?  A finishing school doesn't make sense at this point because basically you are ready.  I know no one is going to sign off someone who isn't ready and I think that is correct, but when the instructor says you're ready, sign the endorsement.  If there is time between the endorsement and the oral/practical then schedule another flight.  Schedule ground to go over the oral again.  Keep it fresh in the candidate's mind.  Dragging it out only adds to the frustration.

IMHO, students finishing advanced ratings should be given priority (within reason) on the schedule.  The goal should be to get students to pass checkrides in the least time possible for that candidate.  That satisfies the student who will likely refer people to the school and it helps the school by having successful students.

The problem with this situation is financially it doesn't make sense.  It seems you spend 90% of the money to get 90% completed and another 90% to finish the last 10% because it gets dragged out.  At some point it feels like throwing good money after bad just because of poor student management by the training school.  No wonder so many people start ratings and never finish.  What a business model.
